Ticket re-issue


My name is Kadrice O. Roberts. On 08Jul2011 I originally purchased 2 tickets over the phone with a Greyhound agent with my Visa debit departing from Merced, CA on 20Nov11 to Newark, NJ. At that time I was told by the agent over the phone that I had one year to not just redeem, but also change the departure dates on either ticket. Both tickets have an expiration date of 7-7-12. The 2nd ticket was purchased for my sister, and she left on the 20Nov11 departure date. I wasn't able to leave at that time because I was hospitalized. On 4-6-12 I went back to the Merced, CA Greyhound bus station and spoke with agent 4427 who told me she was unable to change the departure date on the remaining unused ticket to 29Apr12 because the system wouldn't let her ( even after speaking with her supervisor Mike ). I then called 1-214-849-8966 ( Greyhound customer svc ) that same day, and the agent I spoke with over the phone told me she couldn't simply change the departure date to 29Apr12 because of the type of ticket. This means I am out of the remaining 266.00 I spent on that ticket. Beforehand I explained to both parties that I didn't want a refund because I fully understood the refund policy. I just wanted to change the departure date on the remaining ticket so I could finally go see my family I haven't seen in 30 plus yrs. Both parties at the station and over the phone repeated the same terms and conditions instead of referring me to someone who had the access to simply change the departure date on my ticket. For this reason will I never do business with Greyhound again, and will eventually complain to someone that matters or cares whichever comes first. Thank you for your time.
